Dreaming of your wedding day is an exploration of self, a journey through your desires, and an expression of your unique, personal style. The stage is yours to set, from the venue to the flowers, table decor and beyond. Every choice you make should reflect your personality and the love story you're celebrating.
One of the first things a couple discusses is their wedding theme. This process begins with imagining the time of year you might be married in. Picture a colourful walled garden in summer vs a cosy, snowy setting for a winter wedding. You may want an intimate vibe, or an epic party. Imagine a ballroom full of your favourite people, or a barn with hay bales and a trendy atmosphere. Many layers make up what a wedding theme could be.
A traditional, classic style might stick to whites and light, airy colours. It can be quite minimal, with a simple elegance weaved throughout. On the opposing side, there's a boho style which focuses more on a relaxed, personalised setting full of drapes, fairy lights and wildflowers. There are so many combinations that you might feel overwhelmed, so let's break it down into a few simple topics first.
Different venues will suit different styles. Scottish Castles tend to be be filled with antique furniture and fixtures, often with low natural light or dark interiors whilst a marquee is a blank canvas with natural, even lighting. Barns and steadings are beautiful rustic venues, offering a cosy, country feel to them. Country Houses tend to have large floor to ceiling windows with stately furnishings that need very little additional decor.
